Ares: The Death of the Media Business Model
With the development of the latest P2P network, Ares, the battle against the out dated and fascist business model purported by the media giants for the last sixty years is perhaps reaching its climax. P2P networks like Ares Download have been the bane of these huge and soulless companies for over ten years, but the MPAA and RIAA, the bully boys for the media industry, recently stepped up their campaign of terror on the file sharing community, forcing ISP to release data allowing them to sue the pants off of individuals. Ares is the latest in the fight back, a decentralised network that makes it virtually impossible for the ISP to track users of the network.
P2P networks like Ares Download mean that the spoon feeding mentality of the media giants is finally at an end, and no longer will we be told what to listen to, what to watch and what to read by these people. Publishing can only survive online, and this means that the artist themselves will stand to benefit more. Nine inch Nails and Radiohead are just the tip of the iceberg, and soon all musicians, writers and film makers will be able to produce their work themselves and sell directly on the internet.
