Fifty Low-Cost Program Ideas in Fifty-minutes

It started out with the ambitious goal of soliciting 50 low-cost program ideas in a little less than an hour.  Fifty minutes later, the delegates at the APCA National Advisors' Summit in Las Vegas had suggested 91 ideas!

Ashley captured these for you, and I wanted to make sure they got posted.  If you weren't there, then some of the ideas may sound odd (or make no sense at all).  If that's the case, drop me a note and I'll explain it to you.

Thanks for the great list!

I am in love with the idea about the side-walk floats- for a while San Antonio College has wanted to put a float in the Battle of the Flowers parade but we don't have the resources right now. Those that have done this before do y'all give prizes to the best? If so what sort of prize and do you let individuals enter or just student clubs and organizations? I think its a great idea and I"m going to try to do it this semester, but I do not know exactly how I want to execute it just yet...

Graffiti party...what does this entail?

The sidewalk parade consisted of club/organization floats which were pulled or pushed through campus on the sidewalk. It resulted after multiple refusals for a street-parade permit. It also was a great way to bring the parade to the students, instead of trying to attract students to a parade.

The Graffiti Party was an orientation event (I think...) where everyone wore a white T-shirt and carried a sharpie. Students could write on each other's shirts, interacting and making new friends, and even scoring a few phone numbers (or so it was reported). Sounded simple and fun!

Hope this helps!

I'm interested in the Iron Chef idea, but I'm not sure how to do the event. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions that would be great.
